When that saddest of times come and I have to say goodbye (with endless tears, sobs, and perhaps mild hysteria), without fail I ask myself this one question:
 
“Were the years of love,  joy,  happiness, and sweet friendship we had together worth the incomprehensible pain of having to say goodbye?”

And with each heartrending, melancholic farewell, I RESOLUTELY and ALWAYS have to say—ABSOLUTELY!   YES, ABSOLUTELY!
